Default Disappointing track time :(

Well like the title says I went yesterday to the track not with the intention of racing just went cause a buddy of mine bought an 06 impala ss and wanted to take it to the track. Its bone stock the only thing it had where my slicks that I lend him. First pass with me in the passenger side 15.3 (its his first time at the track btw) Second 14.66 then third pass 14.35 I was still in the passenger side. After three passes I was all thrilled so I decided to race him but really didnt want to cause my SS after I put the catlless dowmpipe last week has felt kind of sluggish . So we go for it and the results him being stock with slicks and me cai, tbc, tunned, and catless downpipe:
My car R/t .245 My buddy's car R/t.230
60' 2.20 60' 2.04
1/8 9.19@77.49 1/8 9.13@75.91
1/4 14.21@98.46 1/4 14.25@96.79

I was like WTF I figured I would smoke him since I had recently added the catless downpipe and Ive been doing constant 14.00 -14.08 with the catless downpipe. Any ideas as to why I did such an awful time? could it be I need it retuned? I got to admit it was a badass race to he had a car and 1/2 and towards the end beat him by a fender!!!!

Humidity is killing you. You'd be high 13's I'm confident in good weather.

I hope so! Do you think I need to retune it?

you lost all your edge in the first 60'. You spun badly per your short time. killed your e.t. but the higher trap speed shows you up a fair amount on power over him. Anyway, you won, that is all that really counts.

I ran a 9.16 (low 14's) with a 2.2 60' in 91% humidity and around 75* temps. Then changed tires and in better weather was cutting high 13's with similar mods.

We're not dyno queens by any means. Average is mid-200s to the ground.

I think the biggest that anyone has posted about was a 125 or 150 shot.

To the OP,

Next time I go down to the valley I'm gonna have to hit you up and make a track day out of it. I was down in McAllen last month but I didn't have time for anything, plus my tires are getting pretty bald!

Sounds like a plan just let me know ahead of time so I can schedule myself off in the afternoon. Probably even invite my buddy as well (btw his SS is black too)
