new to these boards and need some advice
Hello all! I've checked out these message boards a few times when I first purchased my 2008 Impala SS last fall and now wanted to register. I'm located just outside of Buffalo, NY and wanted to see if anyone is from WNY?
I will get some pics soon, but I can describe a few visuals for all of you:
Victory Red
black leather interior
upgrades thus far
tinted glass
18" SM Tach crome wheels
K&N cold air
Looking at the aftermarket hood and razzi ground effects... any of you that have any of these 2 I'd like to know your opinion on how they look in person.
With just 1 performance upgrade what should I do next? I'm not experienced with major upgrades, but love to learn what these motors are capable of.
I'm hoping to get my name on here often and make this 4 door family sedan something that will leave the ricers scratching there heads about!

I'm from Cheektowaga! There are a lot of IMP and MC SS's around here, but not too many GXP's. So if you ever see a black GXP, then it's proly me lol. As far as performance goes, most people on here have a cutout, with mine going on tomorrow! I'll see if I can post some vids of it sometime tomorrow.

Welcome! CNY here, ten minutes north of Syracuse.
I would recommend Diablo Sport's Predator or Trinity tuner, along with a custom tune from Lew (06MonteSS). That way if you do some major mods in the future, Lew can re-tune your car to maximize the HP. Even with just your K&N, the tune would increase your HP, increase your gas mileage and you could disable the pesky AFM (DoD). But that's just my opinion! Definitely check out DavidGXP's links. As a new member also, I have found tons of helpful info on here about our LS4's. Good luck with your SS!

Downtown Buffalo, checking in! Welcome! If you ever see an Impala SS with OE painted graphite wheels on the driver side, and OE polished on the P/S, it's DEFINITELY me (at least for a couple weeks, lmao). No one would rock the two-tone look for as long as I expect to, lol.
Regarding some of your planned mods, while I haven't seen them in person, the Razzi kit looks really bad, imo. I don't like how the front bumper extension attaches to the OE bumper cover...looks cheesy. If you were to take that and permanently mold it to the OE cover, filling in the seams, it would be 100x better. The rear isn't terrible, and the side skirts are OK as well. Unfortunately, there's no alternative at the moment.
I like the MPD hood, but I wouldn't pay that much for it.
