eBay Slotted/Drilled Rotors Warped...Need a better alternative!
Well, they finally got bad. I bought the 4-wheel eBay drilled and slotted rotors last years, and a couple of months ago the fronts started to warp.
Now they're really bad. We do a lot of uphill/downhill mountain road driving and I can't be buying rotors every year.
Any suggestions on what to look at? I'm not looking to do major surgery, just something that will stop well and last a long time.
Anyone have any experience with any of the lifetime warranty rotors offered by Napa and other places? Will they actually replace them if they warp?
Your suggestions would really be appreciated!

Slotted and Drilled are meant for racing applications, they help get the pad gasses away from the disc quicker, and they help to cool the discs...
R1Concepts are good from what I have heard..
I need new brakes too, to install new pads and rotors do you have to bleed the brakes??

I've got the Auto zone ceramic pads and I like em. Never had to exchange em, but I had a buddy that use to get new pads for free every year because his rotors were grooved so bad. It would chew right thru the pads, Auto zone never questioned it.

I stand corrected...what I wrote isn't what I meant to say and was misleading.
Slotted and Drilled rotors were developed and used in racing applications before they were used on street cars....they stop in shorter distances, dissipate more heat/water/brake dust, as well as being used for a weight savings and better rotor balance.
While these brakes do stop a car in a shorter distance they are not necessarily meant to be used for the same length as normal smooth OEM style rotors.

Based on everything I've read, I'm going to stay away from drilled rotors. I'm comparing EBCs at Summit Racing to ATE PremiumOne and Centric. So far, I can't find anyone with anything negative to say on either.
One thing I can't find is warranty info. Anyone know what waranty is on the above brands?

no you dont need to bleed your brake's after a rotor and pad swap.

I have 111,000 miles on the stock brakes - I will replace with GM pads, but am looking at NAPA rotors because of the warpage of the GM rotors.
I only use AZ rotors on beaters, never had an issue with them except when the AZ pads shatter and ruin the rotor.

I need to call Sam Strano and see if there's an ATE rotor for the wbodies. I was about to pull the trigger on the brakemotive package but I don't know if they will honor an LS1Tech price because they're not sponsors here anymore.

Just called and found out that Napa's lifetime warranty on the "Ultra Premium" brake rotors covers warping. They're $69 a piece, but it sound like it's worth it if I can keep getting them replaced!

And I've owned nearly 27 cars (at last count) in my 24 years of driving, and I've never had any of them warp rotors in less than about 15,000 miles. This car goes through rotors in about 20,000 miles or so, which is 1 year. If I can keep the cost down, it's a good thing.
