Default Okay, I'm a retard...How the f#ck do you change wiper blades on an Impala?

I've had a couple dozen GM cars, but I've never seen a cartridge like the one on my Impala. How in the hell do you change them?

I'm replacing the old ones with a set of Goodyear Assurance (Costco, $6 per!), so it's the whole cartridge, not just the inserts.

Sorry to bother you all with such a lame question!

RTFM!!

it's in your owners manual...

it's a clip you need to un-clip to get it to slide out of the j-hook wiper arm...

basically, hold the clip up, then pull the wiper blade towards you - sliding it down the wiper arm

My car didn't come with a manual, Lew, but I understand the sentiment.

Seriously, though, when pick up the wiper to expose where the J-hook goes in, I don't see a clip. I'll go out and try it again, just to make sure.

If that don't work, the wiper part of it is just plastic...break it lol.

there is a small plastic piece that locks into the J hook. If its broken off, just take a small screw driver and press the plastic piece out of the hole in the J hook, from underneath. Does that make sense?

My finger is on the plastic tab that needs pulled in towards the wiper, then it just slides off. (flip the wiper over so its upside down first)

Thanks for taking the time to go out and shoot a picture. That wiper looks like every other GM wiper I've had. Here's what I've got:

yeah... so flip your blade upside down, and you'll see the clip underneath....

there is a piece of plastic above the j hook that needs to be flipped up. it is on top of the wiper, there is no tab under the wiper. once you pop the clip up the wiper slides right off. the clip is about 3 inches long and flips up toward the j hook. really hard to describe, i hope this helps

Sometimes you have to use a bit of force to get them to slide off, depending on how long they have been on there. Once the clip is depressed, force it off.

I'll try to shoot a few, but she's not much to look at. The 23 year-old paint is hammered, though the interior is perfect. Hopefully, I can get it painted in the next couple of years, as the body is perfectly straight.
