Default Hood Insulator?

I want to remove it and polish out the underside of the hood any harm in this?

Less noise insulation maybe? More heat transfer to your hood? I don't think that there is any harm to remove it, but i do not think that the underside of the hood is finished very well.

I would be worried about heat transfer...but with the amount of miles you put on it there might not be anything to worry about for a very long time.

Go ahead and remove it. It is only there to cut down on engine noise.

It probably looks like crap w/o it. Most cars that come with insulators look horrible without them.
