Default Jet Performance chips

Has anyone ever used one of these yet? Or is it just always better to opt for one of the tuners? I had a stage 1 for my 01 S10 Xtreme years back and always had good luck with it.

I've never had much luck with "canned" tunes from JET, HyperTech, or even DiabloSport. They all seem to add a ton of timing without doing anything about fuelling, and it simply leads to a lot of KR and poor drivability.

After trying one of DiabloSport "91 octane tunes", I went back to stock and called Lew (06MonteSS) and had him do a mail-order tune. Made a HUGE difference.

Since you have an '07, I'm really not sure what your choices are, as the DiabloSport only works on the 06s.

Vector would be an option if you can't get a custom tune.

stay away from JET anything... garbage and waste of money...

besides that, there are no "chips" for our vehicles - regardless of what that page tells ya... everything is flash-based tuning now... there's no adding a chip to the ecm...

The jet chip goes between the plug and the ecm and changes the signal.

really?? then I stand corrected... but damn, that's hokey... definitely wouldn't trust that, heh...

especially when it can be tuned much better, the CORRECT way, by flashing a tune to the ecm...

you have better choices out there for the '07's for sure... hp tuners, efilive, get it tuned correctly at a shop, etc etc...

what happens when that "chip" or its connections go bad?? heh...

The connectors to the ecm and tcm are amazing on this car. By far the easiest ive ever had to monkey with. But, depending on what I do, might just hold off and wait as I am debating a turbo kit now.

If I sell my Chevelle, I might drop some serious coin into the 07 SS.

Or, you could sell the SS and do an LS3 swap into your Chevelle!
