Transmission line leaking. Help
So this past weekend i installed a tranny cooler, thrasher shift kit, and the sensor for my transmission gauge. when i put the sensor and cooler in i cut into the rubber lines that are towards the front of the car. when i filled up the trans with fluid i had a leak at this fitting. any ideas? im not familiar with this kind of fitting. Help if you can. Heres a picture.

I can't quite make it out in your picture, but there should be a plastic cap that slides down over the top of the fitting that is around the pipe. You slide this cap back down the pipe and it will expose a small wire clip. Use a pick to pop this clip off, and you should be able to slide the pipe out. The connectors themselves typically have a rubber o-ring inside of them. You'll get a new connector as the o-ring isn't available separately.
This transmission has 2 different part numbers for that connector:
24236555 "long style"
24236554 "short style"
I think yours is the short one. But just double check the length of the other fitting first though.

You have to replace that fitting. It comes off easy with a wrench. The replacement is $30 or so. You scuff up the inside of the fitting while moving the lines around during installation. I had the exact same thing happen.

No problem. It took me a while to figure out. I replaced the locking clips twice until received a second opinion from a friend. It is kind of scary how loose those quick connect fittings are even when properly assembled.

I removed the fitting from the transmission, without taking the clip off and pulling the tube out, did i ruin anything by doing this? also where is best place to get replacement? would it be possible to get an o-ring from kit of o rings or hydrallic specialty store and just replace that vs buying new fitting to get an o-ring?
