Default Just bought some DDM HIDS

I paid $65 for two kits and shipping. I think they lowered the price or they are on sale the last time I looked at them they were $35 a kit. Will post pics when I get them installed. I am very excited to finally get some HIDs!!!!!!

I 2nd those, I've bought 2 sets of DDM HID's so far (one set is in my GXP) and they work AWESOME. No misfires like my previous Ebay kits I've bought. I highly recommend them to anyone, ESPECIALLY for how cheap they are! Less than a set of Silverstars.

Can't go wrong with DDM's. We've got them in all of our cars and are thrilled!

i love mine, and am considering getting 3500's for the fogs ...

my only thing is when i remote start, like 50% of the time the right bulb wont fire ... has led to getting rolled once already ... no concern because i just flipped the autolight dial off then on real quick with the cop in front of the car to show him they work ... got props on the car ( a rarity im sure ) ... and took off ...

but still its annoying ... im trying to come up with a way to get them to both come on, or dont come on at all ... maybe swapping the wires so the DRL's turn on the fogs instead of the driving lights, so i always have to turn them on myself, because modifying my pre-flight checks isnt hard at all ...

Does your state require DRLs? If not, why not just pull the DRL fuse? That's what I did at the suggestion of the DDM tuning folks. Apparently, DRL's don't play nice with our add-on HIDs, and one of the side-effects is what you're seeing.

If you can, just pull the fuse and be done with it.

i might just do that ... i dont really care if my state requires it or not ... because i drive around without a front plate and thats required

ill test it out for a few days and see if i can remember to turn the damn things on at night ... thanks

its been the reason for getting pulled over at least once lately ... but i told him to stand out front and watch as i turned the dial to reset the "automatic headlights" to off then on again and he saw they both worked and we chatted about the stickers on my rear window and i was on my way ...

You should get a relay harness, it is the best addition to the HID kit. It will fix that issue 100%.

Has any one orders them from the w body store? I'm not opposed to paying more for a better product that will fire every time

It's not a reflection of the quality of the product. You can spend $300 on a HID kit and still have this problem if you don't use a relay harness and disable your drl's.

I've done these things and both headlights fire every time, whether its 20 degrees or 100 degrees outside.

And you don't need to spend crazy amounts of money on a relay harness either.

I paid $6.99 but they've gone up to $7.99.

When you checkout, be sure to specify your stock input.

For example: Grand Prix stock lows are 9006 and GXP fogs are H11. So I ordered two harnesses. One for 9006 and one for H11.

yeah i never though i needed a relay harness because i was only getting one set - blame it on my misinterpretation of the function or someones advice or whatever - but ive been thinking about getting a set of 3500k for the driving lights and a set of 5000k for my old mans explorer for xmas stocking stuffer - so i think when i order those, ill get the proper harnesses and all of that for my car, because i tried to run without the DRL's/ auto lights the other day and almost went into work and left my headlights on ...

but i think i may just pull the fuse, and pretend somethings wrong to fool myself into thinking i HAVE to turn them on every time rather than allowing the car to do it ...

thanks fellers

Just follow the eBay link posted by GXP25. No need to buy a harness from DDM when you can get one for $7.00 off Ebay.

You will need one harness for the headlights and one for the fogs, and they're both the same, since they're all H11s.
