O/T: This '00 GTP worth $500?
The Good, It is bone stock. Has a clear LA title A/c and heater work Doesn't leak oil Sunroof works and doesn't leak. The Bad, Car will only run for about 20 minutes before running hot, they were told it was a blown head gasket, but after changing it, it still ran hot. The only window that works is the passenger front, the other 3 are either off track or the track is broken. The driver side fender is dented in due to someone backing into the car in the driveway about a month ago. They were told it bent the strut too.

For $500 I'd buy it, fix the overheating issue and windows, and sell it for $4-5K easily (depending on mileage and such obviously).

haha i was thinking the same thing jp, i just dont have 500 dollars. its a nice car besides the fender/strut/overheating. and im sure the windows are just off track considering its all three of them.

I assume they changed both head gaskets, right? If that didn't solve the problem, and I assume they already eliminated the radiator/water pump/t-stat as problems, then it could be a cracked head or maybe even the block. Never heard of a 3800 doing that, but I suppose it's possible.
Still, even $500 for a decent GTP, even if it wasn't running, is not a bad deal.

I have a 97 modded GTP and I think 500.00 is a good deal. Did they change the thermostat? I know it's a stretch but ya never know. Also, on those cars there is coolant that runs into the throttle body. The gasket that is between the tb and intake deteriorates and lets coolant into the intake. I replaced mine with a ZZP rubber gasket that is reuseable and covers the coolant hole in the tb. Cooler air baby...and no more coolant in the intake. May want to check that if you do purchase it.

if u put the ls4 in wouldnt u need larger radiator? and how hard would it be to connect it like with pcm and all that? like would that car's dic and everything easily connect to the ls4?

I'm assuming it would be a massive PITA, that's why I said I'd like to. 
I don't have the patience or know-how to do that swap. I'll probably let you get that one and I get that other car I've been looking at. 
It would be nice to have a HUD in 2 cars though...

Unless they just scrap it... Speaking of, there's a GTP in a junkyard down the road from my house if either one of us gets it.
