Default winters coming

i have 46k on my original tires now and havent had a problem in winter yet but they are getting there in terms of tread wear. What are you other GXP winter drivers using for snow tires with the factory rims. I dont want to change to aftermarket but would consider a winter snow tire package if one was available. Also do new wheel sensors have to be purchased or can they be reused. Thanks in advance-John

I've heard nothing but good things about the General Altimax's. I loved the set of Firestone Winterforce I put on my Civic last year. Blizzaks are the most popular snow tire. I had good luck with a generic brand (Semprit) snow tire.

ANY (even the cheap ones!) real snow tire will be lightyears ahead of any all-season tire.

With that said, I just put a pair of Continental ExtremeContact DWS (#1 rated HP all-season on Tirerack) tires on the front today, and so far I love them. Waiting for some more fresh snow before saying they are good in snow, but they were promising in the snow/slush mixture today.

My Perrelli Pzero Nero's are great in just about any weather. They are an all season performance tire and are very cheap for a name brand tire!!! I would suggest them! I have aftermarket wheels for both my sets of rims and I will be purchasing another set of these tires for my 22's.

Going into winter with f1 supercars. If my brothers 300c SRT8 could go I think I can too. Plus now I have a completely level drive to work. He had a up and downhill drive with his car. Oh still stock tires on the back. But not for long. Almost done. 47000k on the clock.
