Going under the knife!
The Impala, that is!
The valvebody and seal kit showed up from TEP yesterday, and we dropped the Impala off at my buddy's shop this morning. Right now, we're waiting on the torque converter, which is being drop-shipped directly from Precision Industries.
Since the car just went out of warranty over Thanksgiving, I'm taking the opportunity to get the CAI, catless downpipe, TBS, TransGo shift kit, and shorty dogbone installed, too. Normally, I would do this stuff on my own, but since the stock parts need to come out to get the trans out anyway, my buddy's shop will install the new parts gratis.
Since I'm going catless, I'm having a pair of Magnaflows installed in the stock locations to replace my straight pipes. It would have been way to nasty with no mufflers and no cat!
Anyway, I hope to have the car back after Christmas and will post my impressions with the TEP valvebody and otherwise (mostly) stock tranny. Of course, I will wait until I get an updated tune from Lew, just to make sure the car is running it's best!

Thanks, Man. This is my last shot with the car. If the trans goes south again, the car is getting traded. In fact, it would be gone now, if not for my wife. She LOVES this car and doesn't want to get rid of it. And since it's her DD, she gets the final say.

My wife absolutely loved our Impala. I'm still a little shocked we actually traded it in. She was totally against trading it in, until I told her we can't tow a jetski with it- which we'll be buying very soon. So instead of searching for a beater truck, I found the Impala replacement

The reason my will get when the time comes, "We gotta trade it in, honey...The transmission keeps falling out of it!."

Hi Dom.
The car is still at Reb's in Reseda and probably will be spending Christmas there. The converter just showed up yesterday (2 weeks late! Thanks, Precision Industries!), which set us back quite a bit time-wise.
I'll let you know how it goes when I get it back!
