Started having problems around 63,000 miles. Shifting at WOT comeing out of 1st gear she would free wheel for a second then, it would feel like a neutral drop into 2nd gear. I have no idea how the input shaft didn’t break? Under normal driving conditions shifts fine. TEP in the spring. I don’t know if I should be added to list, seeing as I’ve got the turbo?

Did you have any problems pre-turbo?

I've owned my car since brand new.. I special ordered it when I bought it... and I made it to 100,000 miles on my stock original tranny...

I'm now on my replacement GM SERTA tranny, and am at just about 102,000 miles...

It wouldn't be unreasonable to count yours, however, it could be argued that the turbo was to blame. I'll make a note in post #1 about your mitigating circumstances!

I'm counting multiple failures in the same car as one, as it would be too hard to sort and know who else has more than one. I know JP_GXP and are in the category, but I don't how many others are.

And you probably have gone the farthest before having a failure!

Lol, you can add me to both lists. Hahaha. I know my trans has been rebuilt before, but that was before I got the car. But as of now, its been giving my quite a bit of problems.

Clunking, Hard Shifting, RPM up an down while in cruise, grinding, in and out of gear, just to name a few. I talked to my the trans guy my dad knows, and hes pretty good, but he said until the car starts throwing codes, or gets a lot worse, theres not much that can be done. Even though its a list of things happening, they still seem to be very miniscule, and don't happen all the time.

Thanks, Man. I'm afraid I've probably pissed off way too many people to get that job! I just want to help shed some light on this problem and see just how widespread it is.

help me out here
so when i park in my driveway ( decent incline) , about every other day or two when i start the car up and try and shift out of park it is extremely hard to, like i can but it defiently takes force, like my gf couldnt back car up for me one day because of it. but once i get it in the gear it is perfectly fine. is this a serious issue?? and did anyone else experience this?

Sounds like the park pawl is getting torque locked. Do you use the e-brake when you park in the driveway? If you do and are having this problem, you probably need to get the cable adjusted so it will hold.

Then I would definitely check the adjustment of the e-brake cable. You're probably not getting much bite, and it only a takes a slight rollback to make it difficult to move out of park.

I had a shudder down shifting into first with the paddles. I used Lucas oil tranny additive and I don't know if it just stopped on its own or if the additive helped out. I just got a shift kit from ZZP and I wanna throw it in but I'm now wondering if thats a good idea. I'm thinking I should just leave well enough alone. I am also gonna grab a cooler before too long and throw that on too. Any thoughts on that?
