I use the stockers.

Any pics of how dark they are? Day/Night pics.

I have the stock bulbs in my tinted tails too since I heard the LED's aren't much brighter.

I guess I should have asked also, Do they just "look" dark or do they actually not allow enough light to come through? Mine are pretty much color matched, but let plenty of light come through during the day and are perfect for night time.

I have the stock bulbs in mine, and it's very obvious when the brakes are on.

I did think about rigging up some DDM HIDs for the backup lights, though!

I believe the stock bulb size for the tails are 3057. You could go with a 3457 bulb which is a the brightest of the 3x57 family. I am not sure what size the reverse lights are on yor car. You would have to check on that. LEDs tend to be dimmer in a housing desinged for a halogen bulb.

mine are about that dark when the car is off ... but i left that part unpainted on mine to leave some stock light coming through in the day time ... at night, even yours will be fine ... and since you left the third light unpainted, you should be fine with visibility, just make sure the snow is cleaned off well before taking her out ...

same way i took the rest of them off, fishing line, and goo gone ...

just pretend youre flossing your teeth and get between the decal and the car, hit the leftover goo with some goo gone on a paper towel and rub til gone ... i think my rear end looks much much much better than that stock busy gold and silver **** emblem placement ...

come on, clean off that trunk, those quad tailpipes you got hangin out under the bumper say SS well enough ... lol ... JK, its your car ...

but yes, those gold bowties only look good on a few cars ... and black monte carlo's are not one of them ... i took mine off to paint it at first, and then cracked it when trying to separate it from the silver part ... but i liked it without it on, so it all worked out well ... then the "monte carlo" and "SS" stayed for a while ... then the "monte carlo" came off, and then the "SS" like a month after ...

im really indecisive ... can you tell ???

you might need to heat it up a little with a blow dryer. its pretty cold out. i left the bowtie and the ss on got the overlays for them. i got rid of the gm badges and the monte carlo block letters though.

But if you want to black out your bowtie here's what mine looks like. Just so you can have a reference.
