Buy the parts from TEP, have the work done locally.

Dave worked with my buddy's shop, and there's no reason why he wouldn't do the same for you.

Get a shipping quote from TEP. Should be $150-250.

Sounds about right.

BTW- I'm in Vegas this weekend. Made the 300 mile drive in the SS on half a tank of gas. Most of the trip, the trans temp stayed in the 120's.

Gotta love the TEP upgrades!

That's pretty bad. A auxiliary cooler connected directly to the trans (omit the factory cooler) and a tighter converter will get your temps down.

To give you an idea of the difference, my wife is driving in town as I type this, and we've been at 152 for the past 20 minutes or so.

Not sure what you're asking, here.

You can get a mobile home sized cooler for around $70. That's what I've got, and it works fine.

I figured you were on a smart phone!

As long as you don't have issues with slipping, or the rev and clink, and you don't have any material in the pan, then you're probably okay to do the valve body mods.

The Precision converter I got from TEP was $199, plus $50 core. There are two different part numbers, and one has a lower-than-stock stall. That's the one I've got, and I love the way it drives.
