Default P-0420

ok guys i just had my transmisson replaced, and now its running great but its throwing a P-0420 code. Do you think i need a new o2 sensor from letting it sit outta the exhuast for a while while they replaced the tranny???

Just a thought. Did they plug the harness back in? If so, it very well could be a bad O2 sensor. Do you have a cat? If you don't you need to tune that code out with a tuner. If you do have a cat and it is high flow some do throw this code.

I do have a cat, and it is plugged in. Funny though, I just plugged my runner in and put the diablo tune in, and it shut the light off

P0420 wont set if one of the O2 sensors is unplugged, its not an O2 code, its a converter
efficiency code. So if you dont have a cat, or have a high flow cat, that could set it. Most of the aftermarket cats are made from inferior materials and never last. Ive seen some last a few days and set an efficiency code.
