resonators? looking under the car i see what looks like a cat just after where the exhaust bolts up, then it does a "y", then the 2 mufflers and tips.

Sarge that's the resonator, which is the third muffler. It's under the passenger compartment. Between it an the engine is the cats.

The flow from front to rear is engine, cat, resonator, y-pipe, mufflers then tips.

Do a real thorough search, there was a white MCSS (forget her name) that posted a nice vid of her removing the stock mufflers and only using the resonator.

SLP does a similar exhaust called a loudmouth.

I ran this way for over a year. It sounded decent for the cost, but the in-car drone was brutal.

i wonder if it would bother me. im pretty used to the sound of a bike exhaust drone in my helmet. i figure it would probably only be temporary. when i get back from korea im putting on headers, deleting the cat, deleting the resonator, and throwing some good mufflers on it. with a tune.

Standby - I'll try to find it

Edit: The gal's name was LittleMT, went back to 2006 but ran out of time searching. Her car was a white MCSS.

My setup sounds alot like that. I cut off my mufflers and resonator and put a classic chambered powerstick muffler where the resonator was and put 2.25 pipes where the mufflers were. Heres a link to what it sounded like in sept when I got it done.

I'm gonna take some new vids of it now that i've broken it in and the cold air makes it sound alot better than this vid.

Just a muffler swap.

I think I'm going to look into a smaller resonator though. Maybe a 12" one. Just for a little more sound.

When I did my 383 Fiero, I used a custom system that was very similar to what you have.

Sounded OBNOXIOUS...In a good way!

I gotta be honest, that sounds phenomenal! Do you happen to have any in-car vids/full throttle passes? I'd love to hear it WOT. Sounds great man.

ok so i did it. i left the resonator in and had the shop weld in a pipe in place of each muffler. i even had them add about an inch to make the tips stick out a little further. more flush with the bumper. i think it looks and sounds awesome.
