Because canned JET tunes only give you knock.
You have an 06. Buy a DiabloSport and call Lew (06MonteSS) for a mail order tune. There's no easier way to improve performance.
BTW- Thank you for your service to our country.

Lew will have to chime in to tell you the details.... He is a stand up guy and very good at what you do.... If I were you, I would not have this be your first mod.... I would start with a cold air and then start messing with the exhaust and then get the tune... You will feel the power increase better if you go this route...

And I do not agree about this not being the first mod. A DiabLew tune was the first mod I did, and my Impala improved noticeably and picked up about 2 MPG.
The thing is, with Lew, you can get updated tunes whenever you add mods, and you don't pay a penny more.
Also, the DiabloSport allows you to upload a custom tune file from your home PC. It also logs data that you extract to a file so you can analyze and e-mail to Lew. This means you don't need to send the DS to anybody. You do it all from your home PC.
Lastly, when I bought my DiabloSport, I tried the canned tunes that came with the programmer, and my car didn't like the DoD tunes, because they left the torque management engaged, which gives you a nasty surge when coming out of 4-cylinder mode. Now, the DS does give you some flexibility out of the box, so you can customize the canned tune SOMEWHAT, but it's nowhere near the control that someone like Lew has with his software. It's very much worth the $100 to have Lew give you lifetime tunes for your car.
