Default WOT 1st to 2nd Tranny "Squeak"

I have noticed a squeak sound when engaging into 2nd gear when WOT ever since I got the car at 26k. Anyone experience this? It sounds like a band, but not sure. It will only do it under full throttle and only when going into 2nd gear. I don't know if this should be concern.

Sound like the belt. Alot of cars do it. IMO mostly front wheel drives.

If there's a band making any kind of audible noise at WOT you'd probably notice something more than just a squeak.

I think I noticed that same sound a few times during 1-2 shift before I changed the serpentine belt. Nothing since.

Me neither. I don't think it's anything to be worried about. I've had 3 FWD cars that have done it and neither one of them ever slung a belt.

My car has done the same thing ever since I bought it but yeah, I always pretty much figured it was just the serp. belt. I've been planning on changing it just to be sure but, it's hard to swallow $100+ for a stupid tool just to do the belt swap. However, dealer wants $144 P+L so, I dunno. Decisions, decisions.

Serpentine belt. Now it makes sense. I got caught up in all the transmission issues, common sense was negated. Thanks for the response guys.

Mine squeaked today as well.... I am relieved to hear that it is not a tranny issue as well!!!
