Still Trying To Figure It Out...
Cruise control set to 45 MPH. A slight flash of something then a thump; I knew I hit something.
2 miles down the road, I pull over to investigate...
Cracked bumper:
The mysterious and ever elusive fog light trap door:
Leftovers:
Total damage:
Wait, there seems to be more:
Oh hai there!:
Stealth Mode:
Somehow, during the hit, he managed to grasp onto whatever he could and squeeze his way into the lower grille through the trap door.
A call to 911 got me animal control (I actually called them specifically to get in touch with animal control). 20 minutes later and the guy's trying to get him out.
[Cat] Food usually works:
But this guy didn't want to leave.
After some poking and finally removing the left side of the grille, he ran out while the guy was trying to noose him. He had quite the limp in his back leg.
Now for the worst part: heading over to a body shop and see what's this all going to cost.

I cracked my bumper in my sub because i hit a emprty bleach container that escape out of someones recycleing bin. It looked similer to what you have and it cost about $500 to fix.

Thanks all.
Yeah, he wasn't too happy. He was fighting with the guy trying to get him out of there; he made the weirdest noises. I honestly still do not know when he had the time to get in there.
My car is lowered and it really was a hit and run. Like I said, it was good 2 miles until I decided to pull over and investigate. Man I was (and still am) pissed when I saw the cracked bumper. Then I saw the fur and did a double take.
As far as estimates went, they're from as low as ~$178 to ~$1,600.
$178, the guy wanted to fix the bumper with fiberglass and not worry about the trap door's hole (where the clip holds it up) being broken. He also wasn't too worried by the fact that half of the holes in the bumper that hold the lower grille were broken. "You have another 8 holes, so I wouldn't worry."
That damn bumper costs over $800. eBay to the rescue!
So I need the bumper and the lower deflector.
Lol, "hit and ride." I like that one.
The chrome is from eBay. It's that flexible stuff. I think I used 7mm all around. I've been thinking of putting 4mm around the top section so that it didn't protrude as much.

well i would stay faaarrrr away from that guy who said he can fix it with fiberglass and not to worry about the mount tabs being broken, that tells me right hes a hack wenever ever fix cracked bumpers with fiberglass, bondo and fiberglass doesnt stick to plastic and its a hack it and wack it fix and it will crack again
its like mixing oil and water together they dont mix well now do they
its like i sadi there is always more damage once a part is removed, so replace the bumper, and what ever else may be broken, im guessing the lower grill, possibly the lower air deflector, possibly the energy absorber as well, who knwos i dont see the car and cant tell ya without seeing the car
so the other estiamte is about right and i would stay far away from the fiberglass guy

look at it this way, if you have a bunch of rock chips, you can get a new bumper to fix it. I really need one after they repainted my car. The rest of the car is flawless except the bumper.

Yeah, new bumper. But meh, I wasn't really looking to replace it anytime soon.
