It automatically transfers and is tracked by the VIN. Warranty and recalls follow the VIN. I received a notice from the original dealer about a recall for the GXP I bought used. I had called the dealer to see about the warranty. They told me it automatically transfers. I gave the lady my VIN and she told me how long I had left.

dp o8 gxp- i dont know how to tell you nicely ,but your 100,000 warranty is voided ,b/c of your nice mods ! think everything may have to be 100% pure stock.? mods like cutout/hogan downpipe/cold air intake /lower t-stat, etc. are a no/no.! gm will look for anything like this to turn down your warranty ! i know all about this, b/c corvettes[ zo6/zr1 ] motors are like $20,000+ installed. gm will even search to see if vette was tuned, .. most people wait till warranty is over /then do what you want.?. sorry i had to bring this up, but may save someone /time / monies .. rkvette

i know there have been some guys who had some of the same mods and their warranty wasnt voided so i think it kinda depends on the dealer.

Good luck with the sale. As far as the warranty, I don't see those mods affecting the remaining warranty.

That one all comes down to dealer.
Typically they turn a blind eye unless the mod is the cause of the problem
