Default New to me 08 GXP

The wife and I picked up a used gray 08 gxp with 40,000 miles on the clock. Very nice car, now the mods will start in soon. Is there a FAQ section for these cars? Any things I should do first as far as mods? Thanks

There's a good FAQ on GMLS4.com.

As for mods, it depends on how much you want to spend. There's not a whole lot out there for our cars. The transmissions are the weak points, as they have a VERY high failure rate.

I would start with a transgo shift kit, tranny pan drop fluid and filter change. Do not flush it.

Congrats on the new ride.

Are the transmissions prone to failure, even at stock HP levels?

No, not at all.

They're really solid.

They often die at stock power levels.

Its not so much the power that kills them, but the flaws in the design.

True. But bright yellow/off color stickies are there for a reason.
