Default Finally getting lowered

Busted a rear driver side coil spring.. Slight strut rub with ppl in the back seat and hitting a bump, or turning right too hard..

Going with the Canuck Motorsports 1.7" drop springs on stock struts (which will be repainted).. Do you HAVE to get an alignment after installing the springs? Is it a bad idea NOT too?

275's in the back with the drop okay? Anyone have this setup done? I think I remember reading it's okay, but I want to be sure..

And nother question: Will the 18x8 Alcoa's bolt on the rears no problems or do I need to mess with the offset?

I'm pretty sure you'll need an alignment after dropping the struts to get the springs in. If you don't, your settings will most likely be way off, the car probably won't handle as well, and even worse, you'll experience uneven tire wear.

when i lowered my car i drove it for a couple of days before getting it aligned and the back of the car would jerk left every time i hit a bump. it was all because it was out of alignment.

^^^^ do you have the stock struts ? If so how long have you been lowered and have you had any problems besides the alignment issue?

Can we please make it clear that the SS sisters have inferior struts and that it is preferable to change them out when lowering?

im lowere on the stock struts, ride is awsome compared to any other lowered car ive driven. You NEED an alignment after you lower it, wait a week or 2 for the springs to settle.

you have to let the springs settle, i do my own alignments and seen a difference from doing the alignment right away and i did it again 3 weeks later.

Yea maybe it was a couple of weeks after i installed the springs so that they could settle. I have stock struts and i would say i have about 10k miles on them and havnt had any problems. I get realigned about twice a year and everytime i go to get it done it is out of alignment. Just the way these cars are.
