TR220 swap questions
My buddy recently acquired a TR220 cam, 220/220 581/581 113 lsa. As well as some LS1 lifters. He has no use for them and I can pick them up on the cheap.
Couple of questions: Will used LS1 lifters work? I obviously plan on ditching the DOD and will be upgrading the springs and pushrods as well. Would I be better off to buy new lifters? Any special I should know before starting this swap? (I will be reading the other cam swap threads, just wanted to try to get clarification on the lifters).
Joe.

And correct if I'm wrong here, but the only thing that was shortened on the LS4 is the crankshaft, right? We dont need a special order cam for a swap do we?

cam is a 3 bolt so your good. lifters will work too if your on a tight budget.
youll also need lifter buckets, head gaskets, head bolts, katech valley cover, balancer bolt and a tune, before you turn the key due to the dod removal. you may also need front water pump, cover gaskets

David, anything special about the Katech valley cover? My buddy has a non-dod valley cover laying around I planned on using it. Also, can we reuse the stock pushrods? Also found out that his lifters are LT1 units, so I might just order a set of GM LS1 replacements. And one last thing, should this swap actually go through, would the tune be safe enough to drive the car ~30 min to my tuner?? It's been tweaked once for the headers, but the dod is still active in the tune.

See http://gmls4.com/index.php?topic=449.0 for my cam swap parts list.
You can use a non-knock sensor type valley tray. You'll just have to remove the PCV system from underneath the tray. You'll also have to remove the PCV hose fitting from the tray and plug the hole with bolt or pipe plug. In addition to these mods.. You will still have to mod the OPSU tower.
The DOD will need to be turned off before start up, or else the computer will limp into DOD mode with the DOD valley tray connector unplugged. Injectors won't fire and their will be no spark.
