Is there a fuse from the alternator to the battery for charging protection?
Last weekend I was at a car show and left the key to the on position for a few hours when I discovered this I tried to start the SS and it barley did on the way home the onstar was out and the indicator said very fast and went away about check charging system now it wont start any Ideas?

I'm doing that now and it's building power I'm at 9 volts currently.

once you get the battery charged make sure the terminals are good and extremely tight

You may want to consider a deep cycle battery since you show your car a lot. I have a optima yellow top and it is a beast.

I have the red top

The red top is high output. The yellow top is high output and deep cycle.

I will get the yellow top on the next one or if this one don't hold the charge. I'm at 12.5 volts.

Or put a switch in to flip to a second battery.
