Default Another tranny thread

Ok, so the trans on the ol' lady's 07 GXP has just about had enough. At 99k it shudders real bad pullin a hill and does the harsh engagement from a stop. I'm not real pissed about it (not happy though), I know its kinda expected. But I want to rebuild it so that it doesn't happen again. The car is completely stock and will prolly stay that way, with the exception of better exhaust. She drives the car about 40k annually and we plan on keep the car for atleast 9 more years. So what should I do to the trans while I have it out, I planned on using the sonnax sure cure rebuild kit and using a stock replacement converter. Is there anything else I should replaced or change. Again its not a race car, just want a good reliable rebuild that I can expect to last upwards of 200k, and I don't think that is an unrealistic expectation. Any help would be appreciated.

Default What they said...

What they said above... One of the main things to address is the TCC relief valve (which I think the sure cure kit will do). What I was told is the stock one operates at to high a pressure which destroys the torque converter clutch which in turn contaminates the fluid and fowls the rest of the transmission requiring it to be rebuilt/replaced. That's what happened to mine at around 80,000 miles.
