Well, its official
After three plus years of GXP enjoyment, im no longer an LS4 owner. I couldn't deal with the 19.5 MPG any longer with my 65 mile round trip every day. I traded the beast in last saturday for a brand new Chevy Cruze.
I know, dont hate me. I went with a completely base LS Cruze with the 1.8 NA and a 6-speed manual. I have to admit, although considerably slower, its still a fairly fun car to drive. Is what i love the most though is the 34 mpg ive seen so far this week.
This makes my daily drive more boring that it was, but at the end of the day the SS Camaro is still in the garage when i feel the need to liven it up a bit

Somebody will have an 88 MM hair dryer on one of those things before the year is out!
As much as I hate to say it, this will be the future of hot rodding.

Very true, wonder if the turbo is transferable to the 1.8? My buddy has an LTZ as a rental and the lag is awful. Still a fun and good looking car though, the "burnt orange" interior accents look really good as well.

Nothing to hate on about the Cruz I actually really like them and have considered one if my ss wasn't my dd and weekend car i've been taking it really easy with the car lately and best I'm managing is 21 mpg. Which in my opinion is great considering I'm used to 10-13 haha

Ok guys, sorry for the delays. I'm a little over one week in, and have put about 400 miles on averaging a little over 34 mpg's. Here are the only two pics so far. I wanted to get it detailed nice this past weekend but i was too busy to do so.

the "box" portion of econobox covers it having cheap fit/finish/feel etc....I wasn't trying to offend, but a Cruze is just that, an entry level cheap GM car ....... I get people wanting better mpg, but there are much nicer options that still get great mpg than today's equal to the cavalier.....

As far as the loan, yes i was still paying on it. I broke even on the loan with what they gave me for the trade (thanks to my Uncle, the sales manager). With $500 down, my payments on the cruze are lower than what i was paying on the GXP, which was 3 years old when i bought it

I've been in a cruze so I know they are nicer than cobalt but in the grand scheme of things they are still at the bottom of the gm food chain.
Good to hear about the payment goin down. I was hoping that you weren't one of the people without a car note who pick one up on a new more fuel efficient car with a new monthly payment to "save $"

Yeah, i'd never be that guy. I actually just had that discussion with my brother a few weeks ago. He drives an 02 explorer that has been paid off for a couple years now. He's sick of putting $200 worth of gas in it per month. He changed his mind about looking for a new car when i asked if he'd rather have a $100/month gas bill plus a car payment of probably $250+ or just continue putting gas in his current ride
