'12 Impala motor.
The only engine tranny combo in the '12 Impala will be a 302hp/262lbft (I've seen conflictin no.s, but that's most common) 3.6L V6, with a 6 spd transmission. That may give an LS4 a run for the money. Talking about a sleeper.

Yup...This has been covered before in other threads. Stock for stock, the LS4 will be quicker.
A heads-up run from a dig probably sees the LS4 car grab a nice lead up to 50 or 60, where it runs into a wall because the motor just can't breath. This gives the 3.6 a chance to close the gap some, due to superior top-end breathing and better gearing from the 6T70 trans. In the end, I'll bet a stock LS4 is anywhere from two to four tenths quicker in the quarter mile, maybe more.

I think the ls4 hits a wall when it shifts out of 1st.
I would guess, that the new 302hp Impala should beat a mid 14 sec 271hp Honda Accord, making it a good race for a mid to low 14 second LS4.
And the '12 is rated at 30 mpg highway.

The cars will probably weigh roughly the same, though I would not be surprised if the 3.6/6-speed car weighed more than the LS4 car. After that, it comes down to torque and gearing.
Guess we'll have to wait and see!
