Anyone tried this?
I bought a K&N CAI soon after i bought my car. It seems to suck alot of hot air in from the engine bay. I have always wanted to try a Cold Air Inductions CAI and recently found someone willing to sell one.
I was wondering if i could keep my K&N setup and use the enclosure from the Cold Air Inductions kit on the K&N? I am sure i could get it to work but was wondering if the alignment would be off
here is the CAI box and filter
thanks guys

I think I might try it. If I can't get everything working I guess I will buy some parts from cold air inductions to make it fit.
The guy is sellin pretty cheap cus there is a lexan peice gone and it is actually from a 3.9 monte so it doent have any of the tubing

fenderwell?? It would eliminate all the issues. And to those who talk about water in the engine..never had an issue in my Z28. 10 years and it worked great. 3 hurricanes and no water in engine.
"think outside the box" ? lol

it is a little louder. i have a throttle body spacer on mine right now and it made the intake really loud. The K&N is alot quieter than the Weapon-r intake i had on my old monte tho.
here is a drive by of my car. you can hear the intake

I personally think so, it also has an opening at the front that is also filtered unlike the K&N. So the air doesnt have to around to get into the filter just goes straight through it.

i might look into one of those filters. my one concern with k&n filters is they dont seem like they would actually filter alot. they are pretty thin

do you happen to remember what filter you got. If I were to get one I think i would like one about the same size as the k&n

I did have to get a 3" extention tube to make it long enough though.
