Default Spark Plugs and Wires???

While I was at the dealer for some extended warranty work (Break control Module i think, dont remember off the top of my head but it caused my ABS, traction and stability control to shut off and say those systems needed servicing). I asked about changing the plugs (80K miles)

Dealer: "oh you dont need to have those done for another 20k miles."

Me: "ok but what am i looking at for the labor to have them changed."

Dealer: "i cant get you and exact quote because the parts department is closed right now... But I can get you a rough number"

Me: "ma'am I just asked about the labor"

Dealer: " well it will be $586 for the spark plugs and then for the wires it will be..."

Me: "ma'am I just want the plugs done not the wires too"

... I see her write down that labor for the wires is $586 too. Are they smoking crack in there, over $1100 labor for just doing plugs and wires.

What are the chances of the plugs being seized in there or me messing up the threads in the head getting them out at 85K? How hard is it to get to the back ones after I take the rear coils off? Any tips/tricks to making it easier?

The car is my daily driver down in southeast GA and Central FL. What plugs do you recommend? Do you recommend that I replace the wires too and if so with what wires?

I changed mine after 100,000 miles and didn't have any trouble changing them.

I've used nothing but NGK in all my rides and had fantastic results. I owned two caddies with aluminum heads, just make sure you use anti seize compound and hand thread them in. DO NOT use your socket wrench to start them- if you happen to cross thread your plugs you're done.

Use a bit of rubber tube to hand start them.

I'm planning on using the Laser Iridiums (#1465) when I do mine at the end of the month. They're a little expensive but I believe they'll do still don't know what I'm doing for wires though
