Default so traction control can not fully be turned off?

The other day I was driving to work. For some reason I decided to turn the TC off and floor it around a turn. The tires spun for a second then they stopped for a second they spun again. It felt like someone who was driving a manual transmission for the first time. Is this normal? Thanks.

Yup, something about Diff. anti-score. I think the only way it can be turned off is to be "tuned" off. I'd do a quick search on differential anti-score. Even in a straight line it will cut the fuel off, to prevent damage. Takes the fun out of it and makes you look like a clown.

Donk hit the nail on the head. You can disable with a tune.

it could have been stability control it almost killed me once doing the same thing. If its like my GXP you can shut it off by holding down the TC button for 10 seconds.

Even w/ stability control, the anti-score seems to have a mind of its own. So if u want to rip em, try and keep the wheels as straight as possible. My "anti-score " has kicked in while staging. That was the worst.

Ive been 50/50 on this issue for a while now. I dont think you can tune out the anti-score. Pretty sure from what ive researched its there to keep your diff from explioding. In my case I think i will just back the TM down but still keep it. I refuse to do a thing though until a trans cooler and shift kit is installed. The tune will include higher shift pressures as well. Not like it matters though. Trans will nade when it feels like it anyhow.

I've noticed wierd things with it also. I have an '06 MCSS and if I spin the tires I can get about a car length before it kicks in. If I turn it off it kicks in immediatly. If I leave it off for a few minutes, it seems to be off. Did a 2 block burnout once so it had to be off.

From what ive noticed, TM and anti-score have the same end result when activated, so its hard to tell which is which unless TM is turned off.

My Anti-Score has been tuned out for a while now, definitely gets rid of the face first fall from a hard launch. I just avoid that situation and ease in a little bit for giving it gas. The fuel cut out feature of TC can be disabled too, then it just uses spark to control TC..it's not as obvious when it's engaged but has done the job for me when needed.

Hymm, I was wondering if it cut fuel or spark, cant believe it cuts both. makes sense though i guess. I take it you are referring to TC as in traction control, anti-score, and torque management all rolled in one?

My fault...I was wrong looking at the stock tune it uses ETC and spark to control traction, fuel cut is disabled by default. They aren't exactly all rolled into one though other than that they are both a form of torque management, based on the layout in VCM Editor the Traction Control System is controlled under the ECM TM settings and the "Diff Score" protection is controlled under TCM TM.

Here is a screen shot of the default stock settings..I disabled AS so it would highlight it in pink. Maybe this will help..at any rate they can be disabled independent of one another, so you can leave AS on and turn off the TCS system or vice versa, they are two separate functions with different purposes.

off topic but did not justify a new thread, you can pull a higher lateral g rating in tap shift vs just drive. next time i take the car in to the shop stablitrack will be disabled just so i dont have to turn it off. its almost killed my more than once

Ive had it kick in on me once while i was WOT through a tight turn doing about 75mph. Ill admit, it scared the **** out of me! I can live with the 10 second tc button depress to turn it off though. Its the anti-score that gets me worked up.
