Default HID problems with daytime running lights

So I installed 8000k HID's in the impala a few weeks ago however i noticed sometimes that they flicker only when its daytime....does this have something to do with the daytime running lights not giving them enough power during the day? Should i disable the daytime running lights somehow?

Thanks any help is very appreciated

Yes, it's the DTRLs. There are two fuses in the underhood fuse panel that you'll need the pull. The diagram on the underside of the fuse box cover will show which ones.

This SHOULD work. I have heard of some cars that don't respond to the pulling the fuses, so the lights still come on. Hopefully, yours isn't one of them!

FYI, some of them only have 1 fuse, but 2 slots. Mine only had one, I pulled it and it worked for me.

Good information. I don't like the DTRL running through the headlamps anyway. Has anyone rewired them to use the amber TS lamps instead? I thought our previous GT model looked better but that was a different lamp setup.
