A couple days ago I was driving, a little fluid spilled on my center console and got around my traction contr button. I immediately tried drying it up as best as I could. I didn't attempt to turn off the tc yesterday but today I'm getting no response from pushing the button. The button pushes but the dash light and dic info doesn't come up. Perhaps Ive blown a fuse? Where is the fuse for the tc located? I've looked around both fuse centers and didn't see it. Or maybe it shorted out, hopefully that's not the case tho. Can someone tell me exactly what fuse I need to check before I do anything else? Thanks in advance!

I left the sunroof open in the rain once and everything got soaked. The traction control light kept turning on and off randomly and the airbag light was on. After I vacummed the hell out of the car (interior looks better now haha) and a few days passed everything shut off and is working normal again. Just wait a few days for it to dry up and it should be ok.

who needs traction control? remove it!

If the issue persists, the button/switch is most likely damaged. I would replace that first. It is the WORST placement of any button, that I personally have ever seen.

Ok I'll give it some time and even try vacuuming around the button and see what happens.

You could spray some rubbing alcohol around the button and see if it cleans and dissolves the sticky residue or evaporates the moisture.

maybe try some duster and blow that in and around there as well being that it evaporates quickly and doesnt puddle. It could help dry it out?

If it comes down to it, test the switch's contact's with an ohm meter before replacing.

the button should pop off. then you can wipe it off with a wet towel. then get a can-o-air and blow it out.

Little update: I still can't turn my traction control off and I tried to pop the button off but I felt lil I was gonna break it. Anybody ever have this problem that could help. Should I keep pulling on the button until it pops out? Just want to make sure it comes off like that for sure. I don't want to break it! :-/

mine was like that when i bought the car its not had to pull it out and pop the button off, clean the contacts with some rubbing alcohol and presto good as noe

You say it's not like that? Have to take console apart to do it? Or u mean like it won't break and will pop right off?

the console has to come out(2 bolts on the front and two on the back. the screws inside the console do not need removed. requires a bit of force to pull the back of the console up there are a couple body clips in there if memory serves), the switch has two tabs on the sides,unplug and remove. then you can pull the switch it self apart. not a big deal i used a small flat blade screwdriver to do it. just take your time when lifting the tabs to pull the switch apart
