I think it's a stunning car and a huge upgrade over the current model.
Rumor also has it that a future performance variant will have a twin-turbo 3.6 with at least 400 HP and AWD.

Slightly revised LaCrosse? LOL!! It may be on Epsilon II, but it's got a longer wheelbase and looks nothing like the LaCrosse, inside or out.

Personally, I like what they've done with the design. My guess would be that the more muscular stance and design is in response to cars like the Taurus and new Dodge Charger, both of which have a beefier look to them. Another strong move by GM, IMHO.

looks like a ford taurus to me lol, i still stand imo the impala died in 96, yes there going to sell a ton of these new ones, but imo the ss should be rwd,v8,turbo and then throw some eco badge on there lol, pretty much do what ford did with the sho but do it right, again just imo, im a big impala fan and i hate to see it like that lol

No its pretty smart really, if you look at the other high selling mid size sedans...Such as the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry...and then the new VW Passat which won car of the year, they all offer I-4s...Just a gut feeling, but im willing to bet most of America doesnt really care if their car has around 300hp and does 0-60 under 7 seconds, but they would prefer above 30 mpg, of which all the I-4s offer..The V6 in it offers 30 mpg highway, the E-assist 35/36 highway...im willing to bet the 2.5l will be somewhere in between, but for alot cheaper then both.

4cyl in an impala is just wrong. I would be happier with this car if it was called a malibu instead. I was hoping the new impala would have a retro look to it al a camaro, charger, challenger.

I kinda like it but like the OP said, it has no retro lines like the classic at all. I really wish they would put a ls1 or a ls2 in it and make it RWD but I have no say so in GM's decision to put a 4 cylinder and a 6 cylinder. With gas prices rising I guess they are trying to make it less of a performance car and more of a fuel efficient car. None the less it is a sharp car, but it's no impala to me. The last real impala died in 96...
