Anyone replace their PS pump? I have a whining coming from the front of the motor. With my handy dandy stethoscope (screwdriver with rag on the end) as I hold it to the pump its unbelievably loud and rough sounding. With the wheel cranked all the way in either direction there's a loud chatter coming from the pump as well. The fluid is where it needs to be. The sound is constant the second the car fires up and gets louder with the RPMs.

I just went through the same problem. Whine coming from under the hood and definitely from the power steering pump. Had all the same symptoms as you. I tried two different reman'd pumps. Both whined after install. Then I bought a brand new AC Delco. Problem fixed.
Moral of the story: Buy a new pump.
