Lost to a Camaro SS 6spd
My friends and I had some fun tonight in mexico...I had multiple runs from 15-100, 30-120, and 60-120....The only time I kept up was from the 30-70 then he would pull about 2 cars quick..He only said he has intake and straight pipes...Also ran a 335ci and beat him everytime except for the first run where I spun badly and over-revved...I took by two cars or more before I let off..We got up to about 140...what need to be done to beat the camaro if there is a solution besides my needing to retune.

i have raced a camaro z-28 with intake, tune, exhaust, headers and he would put anout 2 cars on me.
auto versus auto and both being stock, its a good race
but since he is a good driver you would need intake, tune, exhaust, shift kit, and probably a bit more.
when he shifts is your chance to catch up really so if you can shift as fast as possible it will defiantly help

I should have put more info...he is a 2011 camaro and I have crazyjoes old gxp...which has cai,headers,ls1 intake, and tune before the intake, I added shift kit with cooler...That is true when he shifted it gave me that tad bit of hope and then diminished as the taillights never got closer lol

3.69 gears with a camshaft would do the trick. If you can't afford a cam swap, then get some 1.8 roller rockers.
2nd and 3rd gear will always be sluggish due to the factory gearing.
3.69's will help a lot!

Weight transfer to the rear needs to be eleminated. If you are serious about traction, then contact Arraut Motorsports http://arrautmotorsports.com/grand-prix/ and have them build you a custom adjustable rear coil over kit. They offer adjustable shocks with stiffer coils which will help keep the front end planted. I also recommend ZZP front lower control arms http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/...for-WBody.aspx The arms had problems in the past, but have since been fixed. The will prevent flex and maintain proper alignment/tire contact patch.
As hard as it is... Try to keep racing off of the streets

For traction I recommend some sticky 275/40/18 summer tires on the stock wheels.
