Talking Dyno Retuned!!

I decided to go back with Jtran who originally tuned my Altima on his Mustang Dyno. He is a great tuner and his website is jtranstudio.com located in Houston,TX. On the first video which is my base run with whatever tune had came with the car it only pulled 245hp/249tq. At the end of the first video you can see under hood smoking lol. Second video shows my peak run hitting 263hp/386tq I will also scan and post graphs. I havetwo of the them cause he wanted to show me how my car made more power with the tcc unlocked vs when locked which I found very interesting.

Video 1 Baseline Run:

Video 2 Final Run:

Nice gains from the tune, but your probably looking at 280 ftlbs not 386 those spikes really skewed the max data.

I only put down 330 ft/lbs before doing my head swap.
Nice numbers, despite the spike.

Also wanted to clarify that mustang dyno can read nearly 13% lower than common dyno jets in most shops. Info from:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...-dyno-jet.html

So theoretically I would be 297hp/436tq

That second torque number isn't right, thats way high..That's like saying I make more power if I leave my car in first on the dyno. The numbers will read higher with the converter unlocked.

All dynos read differently, but that's why they are just tuning tools. The track shows the true power of the car. Did you happen to dyno in 2nd gear?

This

A good dyno operator/tuner would have told you to disregard those spikes and not tell you the car is actually making that much.

I'm pretty sure they were 2nd gear pulls as I saw the speed on laptop get to about 85+/- mph. Btw he is a very good tuner reason why he gave me the two different graphs comparing the tcc locked and unlocked with tuned vs untuned. I do appreciate your comments!

I'm not doubting his tuning, but showing you the difference between a locked and unlocked converter to inflate power numbers is like saying let see what kind of power it makes on 7 cylinders. It's completely useless information and a waste of your gas and time.

Maybe I'm wording what am I trying to say the wrong way...this was first time he has ever tuned ls4 car, he gave me the graphs for my understanding on why he used played with the tcc lock on hptuners while dyno. This showed me that my car's ecu does better on its own than with manual overrides. He wasn't trying to inflate numbers to impress me, all I worry about is how much is gained under curve. I doubt peak numbers win races. If that was the case, 1800hp and 1600hp supras wouldn't both be 8 sec cars lol

This is true. I just saw that part where you were boasting 436 ft lbs of torque and I wanted to bring you down slowly.

By NO means was I boasting lol I do understand how text can be misunderstood. I had theoretically in bold meaning I have a margin of error. I'm just excited by how much smoother and faster my car feels. I appreciate your consideration in taking it slow on me hahaha
