Arrow how goes the battle to find parts for your GXP at local parts stores.

Just had a nice conversation with two places...and I mean nice as in they had no idea what they were talking about and said I had no idea what I had..

Easy.."I have a 2007 Pontaic Grand Prix GXP 5.3 liter.. I need the rear rotors for it...they are the cross drilled rotors"

Them: "we dont sell aftermarket"

me: "no these are factory on a GXP"

them:" Ok hold on....these are the rear rotors they are 51..we have two"

me: ok can you visually inspect them to make sure they are cross drilled"

Them:" Hold on...sir my supervisor said they never came from the factory like that"

Me: "listen I bought fronts from you 6 months ago. I know you have them or can get them they are the cross drilled rotors."

Them: "you did? for a G6?"

me: "NO..a Grand Prix!"

them: "V6?"

me: "NO a V8!"

Them: "ok but the ones we have we can only order the solid ones, not the drilled..is that ok?"

ME: "I have drilled rotors in the front that would look stupid in the back dont you think..."

them: -click- hung up on me..

So tell me how hard is it to find parts for a Pontiac GXP..were not that far out that parts are going to be that hard to find. Or is it? It was a limited production car but is it that scarce the get parts now? Just wondering.

And ohh..update..my 1st gear is going bad now...

I had to deal with idiots like that as well. I went through brakemotive after dealing with the people at Autozone and Advance Auto Parts.

Advanced did carry the rotors in the drilled format however the person was such a smartass I left and ordered them online.

Haha they are not supposed to know everything about every vehicle. They simply need to know how to correctly enter what you tell them into the computer.

If you really want to get their blood boiling call and ask for parts for a 1983 corvette.

I had the same problem the other day when I asked a tire shop to put 255 tires on the front and 225 on the back. The guy said "there's no possible way you could have different size tires on the front and back." I told him it came stock on a GXP, and he told me it wasn't true. I hung up.

Find part number on their website, write it down, walk in while handing the person the piece of paper and say "I need two of these, please."

Problem solved.
