Default Trunk not releasing

Hey everybody, my car is having this strange problem disengaging the trunk latch. I can crawl thru the backseat and release it and it will work for as long as I dont really need it to. But as soon as I actually NEED it the trunk will not release! I can hear the click on the fuse box under the glove box, but since it is doing it only ohhhhh once out of every 20 times makes me think that something is just out of alignment, but I cannot find anything to tinker with. Anybody else have this problem? Thanks for any help!

Could it be the actuator mechanism that actually releases the trunk? I know on my Blazer there's a shitty plastic piece that likes to break off so it won't disengage.

Nothing seems to be broken, I don't think it is anything with the mechanics of it. Because whenever I pull the handle in the back it acts perfectly fine, it sounds to me like the hinge is out of alignment. But there is nowhere to adjust it, it only has 2 small holes that hold it in.
