If I end up keeping the GXP (which it seems I may as there is zero interest on CL), it needs new tires before the rain starts coming down here in FL in the next two months. Definitely want a upper-end-ish summer tire. No snow and cold temps are rare down here.
Currently it has some 255/45R18 Continental DWS' that I was pretty unhappy with overall. So unhappy with the DWS that I really have no desire to even go to the DW.
Had my heart absolutely set on a pair of Bridgestone Potenza S04's (that's what one of the rears is that I replaced, and I'd likely replace the other with the same at the same time), but the more I read some of the posts on here from David, the more I want to go with a 275/40R18... which the S04's do not come in.
Really, how much better is the going the extra 20cm wider on these cars? The S04 is definitely a better tire than something like a Hankook Ventus V12, but it also won't be as wide. I don't want to go over the $225 pricepoint I was looking at for the 255/45R18 S04's.
We have Ventus HRII's on the front of our T/A in 275/40R17, and I hate them, though that is obviously a cheaper H-rated tire and probably isn't fair comparison to the V12s.

I love the V12's as you already know. Keep it simple, and go with the 255/45/18 S04's.
If you plan on keeping the car, then go with V12's up front with S04's in the rear for pleasure
