Hey all!
Finally got my first LS powered car. I've been wanting a manual 05 or 06 GTO for years but since I needed a 'family' car for me, the wife and kids, I bought a used, very responsible, non hotrod Grand Prix GXP.
Man I love this car! Comfy and loaded up but plenty of power, handling and some serious stopping power. How did I live with out this???
So, now I need to fix some little things and start hopping this thing up. What are some of the quick and easy mods that can be done with this car?
Thanks.
Mike

Welcome! I pick up a 2006 GXP tomorrow, it'll be mainly the wife's car. I already have a modded GTO.
The best bang for the buck for GXPs are ZZP downpipe, better air intake, and tune.

shift kit for 40-70 bucks. Extremely easy, I have no mechanical ability and was able to do it. and some magnets for the transmission fluid pan. Probably need to change the fluid anyway. Use dexron VI for the fluid. If you want to add some pep probably just get a diablo intune and use the built in tune.
This car takes 93 fuel, don't use 87. If you didn't know that ahead of time, sorry.
Aftermarket parts, I can recommend the Cold Air Inductions intake. I got mine from diablewtune.com. The guy who runs it actually already posted in this thread too. The cheapest you will find it is on his site. He can also do custom tunes with him, I think I might get started on that today or this weekend. Not too far you can go with mods though without doing some real tranny work though, and that gets pricey. Not sure what you are looking to do there.
You can flip the motor mount as well, but I can't say I noticed too much of a difference.

Has someone done a tutorial on the motor mount flip? I kinda eyeballed it earlier and I don't see how its flipped around. Looks like a fork on one end and a bushing on the other. I'm guessing its the upper mount everyone flips?

Yep that top one, what I did was take that bolt out, then spray some lube IE wd40 into the square rubber mount. Then stick the bolt in there and torque the nut on it. Then take your rachet and wrench and turn them both the same way and it'll roll over. Then put your mount back in and there you have it! You might have to pull your motor forward like I did. That was annoying!
