Default What intake to swap on?

I'm looking to do an intake manifold swap and was wondering what ones worked best or best bang for the buck. I seen ls1/ls2/ls6 and wanted to know if there is any difference between them, installation and part wise (fuel rails/injectors/etc..)

I know dave has a great write up here http://www.gmls4.com/index.php/topic,428.0.html and I read it a lot. I was just interested in knowing if one is easier than the other, I was leaning toward the ls1/ls2 intake because it was much cheaper than the ls6 intake then using all the other parts listed in daves write up, ls6 injectors/fuel rails/ Adapter harness/etc...

thanks - John

The early LS1 F-body guys always want to swap their LS1 manifolds for LS6 manifolds because they flow better and are good for 10 hp more. I also know for a fact know the LS6 manifold is better than the LS2 manifold. If you're going to the trouble of an intake manifold swap, definitely go with the LS6.

I went ls1. Huge gains in powers. All through the rpm not just peak. They all require pretty much the same work.

I think the ls2 is a little more involved of a swap, and if you go with the ls2 I would recommended porting the runners. It actually flows less than an ls6 until it is ported.

Ls6 all the way. Itl support more power and if you ever get to the point where you wanna upgrade to the FAST intake you can sell the ls6 for what you can find em for used. They hold their value very well.

Are you planning a cam swap? If so go with the Ls6 if not go with the ls1.
