Default How to launch my 06 Impala SS

I went to the track 2 weeks ago. My best time with my 06 Impala SS was RT .980, 60' 2.231, 330 6.086, 1/8 9.317, MPH 76.22, 1000 12.083, 1/4 14.403@97.74. That's with traction control turned off and easing into the throttle with no wheel spin. I make 270HP/282TQ at the wheels with tune. If I try to get on the converter with any type of RPM I get wheel spin and I have Nitto 555R Extreme Tires with 32psi in tires. What should I do for launching my car? I have seen 14.2 at over 100mph stock when it was new. I feel as though I can get better times with my car.

I stalled up to 1800 and when the last yellow lights I 1/4 throttle for about 1.5 seconds then full throttle. Leave the car in second. As you can see its an exact science lol. I ran 13.5 @ 104 with a 2.19 60. On bald pirellis. Stock tire pressure.

Did you use traction control or not?

My car with traction control off still spins. I did from 1500- 3000rpms before I got these tires and tune. never got better than a 15.1. Maybe I have to get a better burnout in the burnout box to really heat the tires up. (the track even when prepped is still a slick one)

Street tire compound doesn't heat up. All You need to do is blip it to clean the wheels off.if you hold the car at 1500 the wheels don't spin un less when you let off the brake your throttling into it.

Its 5-6 max but hey you say tomato I say....your wrong.

Quoting tiredgxp
"If it's like the GXP, hold down the TC button for 5-6 seconds, when you release the button the DIC should display TC disabled and then Stability Control disabled. It's a bit sensitive, if you don't hold the button down long enough, just TC is disabled, if you hold it too long, nothing happens (I suppose this is a failsafe in case something heavy was left on the console and hit the button by mistake.)"

How much do the impalas weigh vs the GXPs? Cause I had the exact same 60' but ran a 9.1 in the 1/8th. I'm stock with a tune.

WELL........... I tried turning the stability control off last night. Nothing happened when I held the TC button down. It just said the normal traction control off message. Should it display stability control off? Do I need to hold it down for 5, 10, or whatever it is and then let go right away? Will it not go off if I keep holding it down?
