Who is running an aftermarket Torque Converter
Like the title says , who is running it on there LS4. What brand and stall ? I've called TEP but no answer . After a lot of thinking I'm keeping the SS and going with heads and cam. Also wanting to put some 3.69s and a higher stall torque converter. The SS will be used as a weekend cruiser/ weekend track warrior. Was going with selling the SS and getting a G8 but want to be unique.

I just got an aftermarket TC because they use the older style har clutch material (had it set for 2800 stall). The stock converter has the new woven material clutch which is why the shed so much crap. I swapped in 3.29 gears as well - should install 4th July weekend, so I'll post how it performs.

I have the lower-than-stock stalled PI converter in the Impalam which I also got from TEP.
After 110,000 miles, no problems, and I no longer find a ton of material on the magnet like I did with the stock converter.

Go through PI directly. E mail Jack@converter.com and tell him what you want.
If he asks you to go through Dave, then tell him you are having a hard time getting a hold of him.
I would go with a 3500 stall converter with 3.69 gears. I was using the stock converter since both PI converters would no fit my input shaft. Luckily the trans shop caught the problem. Dave was extremely helpful during this situation and refunded my money within the week. Jack, next day aired the shop another converter, so PI was involved as well, and tried. I wouldn't worry about what I went through to much, since both Dave, and Jack are aware of the early problem.
