Default DoD question/tuning for mileage

Has anybody tuned to maximize 4 cylinder mode and if so what kind of mileage improvements did you see? also, has anybody ever just "put a toggle switch on it" and driven around four cylinder mode? I really think thr key to maximum fuel efficiency in four cylinder mode is running a lower final drive ratio. A 4cyl engine is way more efficieny at 3500rpm than it is at 1800rpm.

Im going with a 3.69, single 7/8" chain conversion. I plan to run some 1/4-mile and utilize DoD as much as possible.
