Default TPMS Sensors

Kind of off the topic of "performance", but here goes. My 06 Impala SS shows accurate tire pressure on the info center, but every time I turn the key on it says to check left and right rear tire pressure. I would assume that if the batteries were dead in the sensors, that it wouldn't show any pressure, or some kind of error. Thoughts?

If there's a differential of more than 7 or 8 PSI from one side to another, it will trigger that message. Also, I'm pretty sure pressures under 25 and over 42 will do the same.

The thing is, I checked the tires with a gauge. They are all 34 right on the dot, that's what the message center says too, if I lower or raise the pressure, it follows on the dash perfectly.

I think the battery is supposed to last 7 years, so I would assume these would be going out. My left rear goes to 0 once in awhile. I would ignore it until you get new tires.
