Default GXP paddle shifters in SS

Hey everyone, so I tried to do some searching here on the site but I hadn't run into anything on this topic for our cars. So last night I was coming home from the movies and I just had a random thought on if the GXP's paddle shifters would work in my 2006 Monte Carlo SS. I assume you would have to take the whole steering wheel since the paddles are on the steering wheel itself right? Does anyone know if something like that would work or would it be way more trouble then it's worth? And if it would work, what would need to be done to make it work?

IIRC, you will need the valve body from the GXP version of the 4T65E-HD.

You could also pick up the steering wheel from a 2012-2013 Impala as they have paddle shifters on them for use with the 6T70.

Gxp specific is valvebody, trans harness harness to TCM..paddleshifter harness...then you'll need to get tuned to implement it. Not worth it at all imo

I figured it would kind of a pain to do. It was just a random idea I had that sounded like it would be pretty cool. Are there any after market paddle shifters that would work for our cars that would be less work than using the GXP ones?

What part of "you could also pick up the steering wheel from a 2012-2013 Impala" did you not understand?
