Default Does this sound healthy??? :/

So came home from work and thought id check all my fluids since its beautiful out and i notice this noise.

So Is this a typical sound? Just the perks of an LS engine?

Revving the car nothing happens. It doesn't get louder. At least from my ears.

Sounds like you might have a collapsed lifter to me.

Its not that noticeable with the hood down. I didn't even hear it till the hood was up. Oil levels are good. I'm running 93 octane.

Could it be just a tune up?

This is my first GXP and haven't even had it for a month. So new noises and stuff are freaking me out. But I have had a car with a bad lifter and this sounds nothing like that. IMO.

Are you throwing any codes I should ask. And just from the video it sounded like valve clatter to me.

Did you get any warranty?
I cannot hear anything (speaker is useless) but from what others have said and the mileage being high... the first thing I would do is pick up 2 cans of seafoam add 1 complete can to the gas tank (full (91 otc or better)) and add 1 full can to the crankcase. Drive as normal for the full tank of fuel , until the light comes on then fill it, not before. At this point if there is a noticeable difference in how it sounds/runs do a fresh oil/filter change.

Hey guys I was hoping for good news! That its normal sheezh! To be honest I drove her a little harder than I normally do but I didn't even make tires spin just a little harder like I said.... So later on after posting this and reaserching the sounds you guys claim I have compared lot collapsed lifters or lifter noise it doesn't really sound like anything I listened too. So I went back out late like midnight car sat for at least 3 to 4 Hrs and I could not find the noise I recorded. I rev'd it a couple times and still nothing. So I'm lost...

Did revving it change the frequency of it occurring? Or did that noise stay at a constant rate?

Its weird. It comes and goes. Like i said late last night it didnt. this morning first start for work it didnt. but leaving work it. and this time i went in a tunnel and listend closer. it noise does increase with acceleration but not raise in sound (louder, it stayed the same) but went with the speed of engine. then came home changed ran to a friends house to help her with her car (had to jump) and sitting at idle while jumping no rattle and even with rev no noise. I think im going to start with the following. let me know your thoughts...

Complete tune up
Oil Change for High Mileage Syn Mobile One with Mobile 1 filter.
Clean and or replace DOD/AFM filter
Seafoam treatment
Fuel Filter

I did check the oil level and it should full. but my lincoln ls v8 should full on stick but took another 1/2 to a quart extra. Is this a possiblity?

What you are going to star with, lets put it in proper order first.

Due to the car being new to you and not knowing it`s history.

As I mentioned above 2 cans of seafoam and follow the instructions I posted. Once this is completed then,
- Fresh oil and filter
- New or cleaned DOD/AFM filter
- Tune up (NGK TR6IX gapped @0.035")
- Remove and clean your induction system from the air filter to and including the throttlebody.
note; we do not have a fuel filter.

Sounds like a rod knocking, maybe due to a spinning bearing which would explain the coming and going. Sometimes oil, sometimes not. Maybe low oil pressure ??

a lot of these cars do lifter noise , piston slap and possibly a bearing though there have not been to many turned bearings reported.
Go thru the earlier plan as you have no idea what ,where, or how the car was before you. I notice that most of these cars in DOD/AFM on a long drive will show/ sound different the next day after a long drive. That is with a clean engine (inside) so older or dirty it can only be amplified.

I've read so many different reviews on sf in the crank. Some swear by it others speak very negative. So here's my dilemma... I'm not so sure what to now.

What is the worst case problem that adding seafoam in the crank will do?

How or what other ways is there to clean build up?

I want to start this tomorrow. So any info would be great.
