Default Transmission finally out

Transmission finally, out being shipped tomorrow! Took about 8 hours I don't think that's bad for my first go, plus had clearance issue with a mount

Post up when you figure it out. I might be doing the same soon, but how to package it and cost of freight has me worried.

Well i finally got it setup and they use someone called R & L Freight Shipping , Round trip was 350 dollars.

I just take it and drop it off at there dock with the paper work they sent me

My total cost for the transmission including shipping was about 5100 or so.

I removed and will be installing the transmission myself. The removal of the transmission was very easy. It was more difficult changing a Starter or Fuel pump on a 97 Cadillac

The motor is only suspended from those two points? Is it well balanced or does the motor rotate forward at all? It just seems like you're not at the center of the V... But I guess that doesn't mean the center of mass isn't between those two locations.

Also $5100 is insane... Especially since you're doing the removal and install. You getting it built to handle 1000 hp?

With the engine suspended how it is it does not rotate at all and you can freely move it around how you see fit within reason and yes I got it built to handle 800 hp

It took me about 8 hours to get out. I only had a little problem with it not dropping down because i could not get it off the fly wheel but after unclipping the hood latch cable it gave me the quarter inch i needed to get it closer to the firewall to drop it.

The original owner of the 3.11 chain/sprocket set that i purchased from ended up coming up with a 3.29 chain/sprocket which i wanted anyways and he wanted his 3.11 chain set back cause its rare for whatever reason. So once i get it back it'll be 3.29 instead.

I had to wait 3 months to get my transmission. And over a year to get the paperwork to send back my core. Good luck!

It's nice besides the loud whining noise it has at first start up until I drive it around a bit. Seems to be holding all the power I'm throwing at it though.

So I finally got my transmission from Dave, and now I began putting it in yesterday, took twice add long to put it back in then it took to remove it, all that is left is intake, computer, exhaust cross over and some under trim, wish me luck and hope all goes well after that I'm going to drain the tank, top fluids start her up and then tune it for 3.29 gears,I also replaced the rear seal and oil pan gasket that added to my time

Default HP tuner / gear ratio / 3.29

Does anyone have the exact Steps to tune the speedo in the HP Tuner software. Its not as simple as just changing the numbers to 3.29 , the tables do not turn out right and the VSS pulse does not turn out right either.

From reviewing Daves post 3.67 can be used and then used to auto caculate the shift tables , Then change the VSS to 101390. and then change the "Final Drive ratio "ratio" back to 1.00,

Anyone got any input , thanks
