Max cam lift with STOCK lifters?
hi all;
I have been searching all of LS1 for info on this and it either isn't there or I need to use different search terms; tried max cam lift (endless returns) and stock lifters and got all kinds of threads, none of which seemed to have this info.
What I am wondering, before I go ordering a cam, is IF there is a limit to the max cam lift using stock lifters. I ask this because at least one aftermarket supplier says to get rid of the stock lifters if using 'cam xx' from them.
I am not sure why the stock lifters wouldn't work with almost any cam, but wanted to ask if anyone has actual experience with this situation?
It sounds like, but I can't be sure, that almost all the cam swap-ins are with the stock lifters because these items don't get mentioned, but again, it is an important part. Do the stock ones have quality control issues? Have they been good?
(PS: I plan on replacing all 16 with non-DoD types as part of the DoD elimination).
Thanks in advance!
