07 Grand Prix GXP
I don't know how many people will see/respond to this but here goes..
Hey everyone, my name is Angel, im 19 years old and own a 07 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP. I'm new to the whole forums thing, but I'm here in search of knowledge. I like cars, I wanna learn alot more about them, and I also want to start doing work on my GP. I saw that this community is full of car enthusiasts so I figured what better way than to consult experienced people. Can't wait to meet you guys and gals. I'll be here ._.

Welcome, there are some things you need to get up to speed on as far as "maintenance " goes but we'll worth the money.
A. Drop the transmission pan and do a filter/fluid change
B. Highly recommended that you add a shift kit, plenty of writeups done to make it really easy.
C. You will want a transmission cooler.
D. Optional but highly recommend - get a tune done or overkill motorsports can get you hooked up as well.
All this will help you enjoy the car a lot more and actually be able to keep it out of the shop. These transmissions if preventive measures are taken can go the distance.

Welcome to the neighborhood!
In addition to what 91ParkAve said, I'd recommend a set of strut tower braces too. For not a whole lot of money these big girls can dance. Enjoy!

what are those? .-. I'll be putting in better rotors and brakes on all 4 wheels, slotted and cross drilled are supposed to be best. I'm a noob to the performance world so im hopping around learning about it haha

Thats a relief haha
what about exhaust and a cold air intake? my muffler's muffle baffle is loose and it rattles around making noise. dealer told me it isnt covered, but muffler shop can do it for 300. I said 300 for a muffler? **** that id rather get a complete exhaust system. im looking at magnaflow 2.5 in cat back. sounds good and is 732 on amazon. as for intakes, i cant decide between k&n and cold air inductions. k&n says 13.48 increase, cai says 12fwhp. the box is closed off so i figured it made sense so the air stays cold, also finished in black, i know it helps black intercoolers stay cooler so maybe it works there too? .-.

nice, im probably gonna end up getting the cold air inductions one too, looks cool in black and the box haha. and did the slp exhaust add any hp? or are there any dyno results for it? it sounds cool but i wanna know if it adds ponies. I've seen the dyno results for magnaflow and it adds 7 hp and 9 ft-lb of torque.

and also, can anyone explain what the resonator does and if its worth having cuz i dont think this system has it. and also the difference in 2.5 or 3 inch and if it matters
#18
resonator on the stock system is to eliminate drone from the DoD, once you do away with the DoD, it isnt an issue, 2.5" is plenty for a NA v8.
